Pieta House opened its doors a decade ago with Lucan in County Dublin the centre of operations. In the intervening years, it has seen and helped over 20,000 people in suicidal distress or engaging in self-harm, and established eight subsequent centres, three in the greater Dublin area – Ballyfermot, Tallaght and Finglas and five further centres to cater for the rest of the country in Limerick, Cork, Tipperary, Galway and Kerry.
Pieta House also operates the Suicide Bereavement Counselling centres that had previously been operated by Console and provide free counselling, therapy and support to individuals, couples, families and children who have been bereaved by suicide.
The National Children’s Research Centre (NCRC) is the largest children’s research centre in Ireland and it is supported entirely by donations to CMRF Crumlin. The NCRC supports the best and most promising paediatric research, and their goal is to find new ways of diagnosing and treating sick children.

By 2020, 1 in 2 of us will receive a cancer diagnosis in our lifetime. The Irish Cancer Society is working to stop this. By investing in cancer research and providing care and support to people affected by cancer, the Irish Cancer Society is stopping cancer in its tracks. Through research we are finding out more and more about how to diagnose, treat and how to stop cancer before its starts. By providing information, advice and support we are supporting people through their cancer experience and helping to reduce the fear of a cancer diagnosis.
