Junction 14 Mayfield all started when two local businessmen and brothers Liam and Donal Fitzpatrick identified Junction 14 as the perfect destination to give M7 motorists a break on the journey between Dublin, Cork and the South West. They spent several years researching the European Motorway Forecourt Industry with a view to bringing the latest trends and technologies to the Irish market, to help improve the existing motorway service station offerings.
After spending considerable time researching, conducting focus groups and charting the motorway, Monasterevin was settled upon as the perfect location; this is where the majority of motorists and drivers surveyed felt was where they were actually looking for a break.Once the site had been established, Liam and Donal went to work on making their ideas become reality and in 2011 Junction 14 Mayfield opened its doors.
